Nature Morte

Created each week in the summer of 2004, Nature Morte is a series of formally photographed still lifes made from a collision of flowers and weeds found on the side of the street, stems gathered after a dinner party, and blooms plucked from the yards of strangers. Captured precisely as they began to wane and lose their vitality, these bouquets of local flora represent a collection of time, place and death.
